As one element of the Monument to the Pioneers of our solar system, this skymapping Astrolabe with Mars illustrates its own navigational path and positioning. Mars is the 4th planet from the sun and about half the size of Earth. One year on Mars is almost twice as long as one year on Earth - 687 days. Days are also longer lasting 24 hours and 40 minutes.
This brass planet sculpture on detailed astrolabe stand is hand-finished in the same process as those in the Museum of the Future's Orrery and includes an engraved inscription and Limited Edition markings on the bottom.
